LEWISBURG, Pa. – After helping the Bucknell women’s soccer team capture the Patriot League championship against three-time defending Boston University on Sunday, senior goalkeeper Jessica Ratner has been named 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.

The Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year made key stops in helping the Bison win their third league title in program history and the first since 2005.

Ratner made a diving stop on a header off a free kick in the opening minutes. Later in the first half, she was well positioned for a save following a dangerous free kick from Rachel Bloznalis, a First Team All-Patriot League honoree.

Bucknell’s all-time shutouts leader finished with six saves in the victory, earning Patriot League All-Tournament honors for the second straight season. It was win No. 30 for Ratner, moving into a four-way tie with Katie Dry, Laurie Purse and Becky Snover for most goalkeeper wins in school history.

The Patriot League champions are set for opening round action in the NCAA Tournament this weekend. Bucknell will travel to Penn State on Friday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
