LEWISBURG, Pa. – Following victories over Lafayette and Colgate, Bucknell women’s soccer junior Maddie Mulford and senior Jessica Ratner have earned Patriot League weekly honors, announced by the conference on Monday. Mulford was named PL Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Ratner earned PL Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the third consecutive week. In addition, Mulford was tabbed 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.

Mulford recorded a pair of goals in Bucknell’s 4-0 win over the Leopards last Wednesday at Emmitt Field. She scored her first goal in the 67th minute while scoring her second goal 3:42 later. In Sunday’s 2-1 overtime win against the Raiders, Mulford scored the game’s first goal 3:28 into the match, giving the forward a goal in four-straight games.

Mulford is second on the team and in the Patriot League in points (19) and goals (7), while her team-leading five assists rank third.

Ratner helped the Bison capture their eighth shutout of the year in the team’s victory over Lafayette, making four saves. She posted a season-high 10 saves in the overtime win in Hamilton, including a terrific save in the 96th minute, when she leaped up to knock away a shot over the crossbar to keep the game tied 1-1.

Ratner, the program’s all-time shutouts leader, now has 21 shutouts in her career along with 25 wins overall in goal, which ranks fifth on Bucknell’s all-time list.

Karli Cirovski was an honorable mention after handing out three assists in the two games. The defender recorded a pair of helpers in Wednesday’s victory, while assisting on the game-winning score by Kendall Ham in the final seconds of overtime at Colgate.

Bucknell is off to its best start in program history at 10-0-1, and its 4-0-0 record in the Patriot League is the best start in conference play since 2007. The Bison are one of three unbeaten teams in the country, joining South Carolina (11-0-1) and Stanford (10-0-1).

Bucknell returns to action Saturday with a match at Navy. Game time is set for 8 p.m. and the contest will broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
