LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Abigail Rosenberg led the charge as the women’s swimming and diving team finished second at the Bucknell Invitational over the weekend, setting one school record and competing with a relay that set another school record. On Monday, she was named the Fifth Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week.

Rosenberg won two individual events and one relay, broke one individual school record and one relay record, and established four individual top-10 times and three in relays. She broke her own school record in the 100 free, winning in a field of 57 swimmers with a time of 50.67, and then on the same day led off Bucknell’s 400 free relay team that finished second with a school-record time of 3:25.13.

Rosenberg added a first-place finish in the 200 free with the second-fastest time in school history. She also swam the school’s fifth-fastest time in the 50 free and the fifth-fastest time in the 500 free, and was on the 800 free relay team that recorded the third-fastest time in school history and the 400 medley relay team that moved into 10th on Bucknell’s all-time list.

It is the first weekly award for the Bison sophomore. In addition to the Bison Athlete of the Week Award, Bucknell women’s swimming and diving has won three awards from the conference this season. Julie Byrne and Julianna Foss have each been named Patriot League Swimmer of the Week, while Christine Kehrli has earned a Patriot League Diver of the Week award.

The Bison have more than a month off until their next competition, a home meet against Patriot League foe Loyola (Md.) on Jan. 13.
