Josh Engelbrecht is in his first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Bucknell. Most recently, Engelbrecht served as an assistant athletic trainer at Alfred State College since January 2016.
At Alfred, Engelbrecht was the primary sports medicine contact for the women’s soccer, indoor track and field, wrestling, baseball and men’s lacrosse teams. He also assisted with football and men’s soccer.
Engelbrecht received his bachelor’s degree in health science with a minor in psychology from Bradley University in 2010. He holds master’s degrees in sports science and rehabilitation from Logan University (2012) and in athletic training from Plymouth State University (2014).
Engelbrecht began his professional career as a certified athletic training intern at Binghamton University in 2014-15. There he worked with the Bearcats’ baseball and women’s soccer teams.
In August 2015 he became the head athletic trainer at Crouse Sports Medicine, where he worked with several Syracuse high schools, before moving on to Alfred State the following January.
