As we look back at our progress over the last seven or so weeks, we are pleased with our start to the 2016-2017 men's swimming and diving season. In a sport that only seems to get faster by the year, we are excited and eager to build upon and exceed the successes of last season. We have taken the time to discuss and establish team and individual goals for this season, and collectively believe we are ready to put in all the necessary work and achieve what we're setting out to do.

The team has already gotten incredibly close not even two months into the season. With team bonding events like the challenge ropes course, pool party at the Lewisburg community pool, roller skating, and bowling we have been able to spend quality time outside of Kinney Natatorium and get to build a strong team dynamic. Already the freshmen have established their place on this team and we cannot wait to see what they contribute this season.

The start of our training has been grueling but we are already starting to see dividends. We've benefitted from alternative work outs like yoga and cycling, and it's always fun for us to work hard in a setting other than the pool. September has largely been about setting a solid foundation for ourselves and getting in tip top endurance shape. The team has been extremely enthusiastic in practices, which has made it a very positive and constructive environment for everyone.

As per usual, we faced UMBC in our first meet of the season. Although it was not scored, we came out eager to race and seeing our first set of results. While there were solid performances all around, we know we have so much more room to improve, and know that the process of this season is still in its beginning stages.

In our near future, we are getting ready to face Boston University on October 15th. The last time the terriers faced us in Kinney Natatorium (2014) the men's team handed them a defeat in an incredibly exciting meet. Because of this, we're looking to match that performance and see some fast swimming. We are also looking forward to the Bucknell Swimming and Diving's 60th anniversary celebration on that weekend as well. We are all thrilled and anxious to see all of our old alumni and celebrate this great occasion. Go Bison!"
