Sunday's Baseball and Softball Doubleheaders Postponed to Monday at 1 P.M.
Release:   03/30/2014

LEWISBURG, Pa. – This weekend’s wet weather has caused the adjustment of Sunday’s schedules for the Bucknell baseball and softball teams. The baseball team was slated to host Navy in a doubleheader at Depew Field and the softball squad was prepared to sqaure off against Holy Cross in a twinbill on Becker Field, but both have been postponed to Monday at 1 p.m. due to forecasted rain and mound conditions after a soaking rain on Saturday.

The Bison baseball team opened Patriot League play Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of Navy and is now 10-11-1, 2-0 PL on the year. Brett Smith was 5-for-5 in the doubleheader, and starting pitchers Bryson Hough and Dan Weigel allowed just two runs in 13.1 innings.

The softball squad won game one of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Crusaders by a 2-1 score thanks to a fifth-inning home run by Colie Escobar. Game two of the twinbill was postponed due to rain. The Bison are now 10-13, 3-1 PL this season.
