APALACHIN, N.Y. -- Led by a 2-over-par 74 from Connor O'Brien, the Bucknell men's golf team opened play at the Binghamton Invitational with a 307 team score on Sunday. The Bison are in 14th place with the final 18 holes set for Monday morning.
One of three freshmen in this week's lineup, O'Brien is tied for 19th place in a field of 85 players. Freshman Jubal Early and junior Zachary Melnick both followed with 77s. Sophomore Daniel Levin shot 79, and freshman Ashton Radvansky tallied an 81.
Sophomore J.B. Thompson, playing as an individual, carded a 78.
Led by a 7-under 65 from Jack Gianniny, Delaware opened with a 284 and leads Rhode Island by five shots at the halfway point of the tournament. Lafayette is third at 292, followed by Towson at 297 and St. Bonaventure at 298.
Gianniny has a four-shot lead over Colgate's Chris Wilson and Long Island's George Helsby. Thirteen players are even par or better heading into Monday's final round, which gets underway at 8:30 a.m. at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.
