HAMILTON, N.Y. – Junior Chaylen Andolino went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a two-run home run to lead the Bucknell softball team to a 9-0 win in six innings over Colgate on Sunday. The Bison, who improved to 26-19 overall and 10-5 in the Patriot League, swept the three-game series, including wins by shutout in the final two games.

Senior Amanda Fazio went all six innings in the circle for Bucknell, pitching her second consecutive shutout. She gave up three hits, walked one batter and struck out four. The Bison have gone 17 straight innings without allowing a run, all against Colgate.

Andolino, who opened the scoring with a two-run shot to left field in the second inning, finished a triple short of the cycle. In addition to her third home run of the season, she had a double and two singles while driving in three runs and scoring twice.

Bucknell finished with five extra-base hits. Sophomore Meghan Kovac hit her school-record 18th double of the season, while freshman Anna Gimmestad and senior Mariah Midyette also doubled.

The Bison finished with 15 total hits, including three apiece from Kovac and Midyette. Fazio, junior Jacee Almond, freshman Lauren Hadley and freshman Ryanne Rokos all singled.

Katie Bushee had the lone extra-base hit for Colgate with a double. Pami White and Holly Geranen had one single apiece.

Bucknell led 5-0 before reaching the mercy rule with four runs in the top of the sixth inning. Midyette, junior Christina Martinez and Andolino all had RBIs in the inning.

Colgate dropped to 8-25 overall and 3-8 in the Patriot League. Bucknell can clinch a spot in the four-team Patriot League tournament with one win in its final three games against Lehigh or with a Colgate loss. The Raiders still have seven games remaining on their schedule, including one against Army West Point and three against both Lafayette and Boston University.

Bucknell concludes its regular season at home with a doubleheader against first-place Lehigh at noon on Saturday and one game at noon on Sunday.
