LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Rade Joksimovic added to his weekend goal total with a team-high five scores and the Bucknell men’s water polo team improved to 3-0 during its own invitational with a 14-7 victory over Mercyhurst Saturday evening at Kinney Natatorium. The 5-1 Bison are off to their best start since opening the 2013 campaign 6-1.

Bucknell is on a roll this weekend, outscoring its three opponents 56-21. Joksimovic has a team-high 17 goals during the Bison Invitational. All five of his goals against the Lakers came in the first half when the Bison built an 11-1 advantage.

Jeff Hagen, who netted four goals earlier in the day against Washington & Jefferson, added three goals, while Logan Schofield chipped in two.

Bucknell, which is ranked 15th nationally, scored the first six goals in the game and led by as many as 10 goals. Mercyhurst (3-3), which lost to Toronto 11-7 earlier in the day, closed to within six goals in the fourth quarter.

Charlie Niehaus registered a career-high 16 saves in goal for the Bison.

Bucknell wraps up play at the Bison Invitational Sunday with a 9:15 a.m. game against No. 14 Brown. The Bison have won two of their last three meetings with the Bears.
