LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s soccer team set a new program record Wednesday night, extending its unbeaten streak to 10 games following a 4-0 victory over Lafayette at Emmitt Field. The Bison scored one goal in the first half and three in the second half, as they improve to 9-0-1 overall, their best start in school history, and 3-0 in Patriot League play.

Bucknell’s 10-game unbeaten streak breaks the record previously set last season. With the win, the Bison improve to 19-6-2 all-time against the Leopards, while extending their unbeaten streak at Emmitt Field to 13 games (11-0-2) dating back to last year.

Bucknell, the top ranked offense in the Patriot League, wasted no time getting on the board, scoring 2:23 into the contest. Maddie Dano headed in a corner kick from Karli Cirovski for her third goal of the year.

Bucknell, who entered Wednesday ranked fourth in the country in scoring offense, scored its second goal of the evening in the 67th minute. Alexis Gannon flicked on a free kick from Cirvoski to Maddie Mulford for the finish.

Mulford found the back of the net for the second time in the game just 3:42 later. Jackie Ham passed the ball from the left side to Mulford, who slotted the shot between the pipes for her sixth goal of the season.

Bucknell, who entered Wednesday outscoring opponents 27-3, including an 18-1 margin in the second half, scored its fourth goal of the contest in the 79th minute. Tri-captain Cora Climo sent a through ball to Bailey Hurst for the score.

The Bison outshot Lafayette 23-7 and held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

It was another fantastic outing for the Bison defense, as they extended their shutout streak to five games. Bucknell, who ranks fourth in the country in scoring defense, has not allowed a goal in the last 545:04.

Jessica Ratner, the reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, made four saves in the contest for shutout No. 21 of her career. The program’s all-time shutouts leader made a terrific diving stop in the 27th minute to keep the sheet clean.

Bucknell will hit the road for the next two games, beginning at Colgate on Sunday (Oct. 1). Game time is 1 p.m. and the contest will broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
