EASTON, Pa. – Bucknell had five runners finish in the top 30 and took fifth in the team standings at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Lafayette’s Metzgar Athletic Fields Complex.

Will Bordash was the Bison’s top runner, finishing in 10th-place with a time of 25:15, earning Second Team All-Patriot League honors. Navy’s Lucas Stalnaker won the individual race for the second consecutive year, finishing in 24:48, six seconds faster than second-place finisher Ryan McCoy.

Navy won the team title for the fourth consecutive season, finishing with a score of 23. Army West Point was the runner-up with a total of 79, followed by Boston University (83), Lehigh (86) and Bucknell (87) to round the top five finishers.

Luke Giugliano finished 15th in the course, coming in at 25:24, missing All-Patriot League status by one spot. Freshmen Drew Dorflinger (25:36) and Jacob Stupak (25:37) each turned in a strong showing in their first league championship meet, placing 18th and 19th, respectively, while Chad Sussman (25:50) finished 28th.

Bucknell’s next four finishers placed in the top 50 of a field of 106 runners. Zach Williams took 32nd in 25:57, followed by Ben Siciliano (38th), Louis Tobias (39th) and Ross Pirnie (48th).

“It was a very bittersweet run as we were so close to second but finished fifth,” said head coach Kevin Donner. “We are so close to being a good team but inconsistency has hurt us all season. If our top eight could all put it together on the same day, it would be a great sight to see.”

Bucknell will now turn its attention to the NCAA Mid-Athletic Regional Championships, which will be held at Penn State on Friday, Nov. 11.
