LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head men’s and women’s water polo coach John McBride announced on Friday that former Bison player Hannah Sunday, a 2016 Bucknell graduate, has been named an assistant men’s and women’s water polo coach at her alma mater. The three-time First Team All-CWPA Southern Division selection joins the Bison staff just a month before the women’s season gets underway.
A 2016 Honorable Mention All-America honoree, Sunday is the program’s career leader in ejections drawn with nearly 100 more than second-place Valentina Rozas. She owns three of the top four spots on the single-season ejections drawn list. Only one other player has had 90 ejections drawn in a season, and Sunday reached that figure three times during her Bucknell career.
A two-year team captain, Sunday last year led the Bison with a career-high 69 goals. Her 194 career goals rank sixth in school history.
In addition to her numerous all-conference honors, Sunday was named to the All-CWPA Championship Team three times.
This will be Sunday’s second coaching position since graduation. She was named the assistant women’s water polo coach at Saint Francis (Pa.) last summer.
A Carlisle, Pennsylvania, native, Sunday graduated from Bucknell with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
