ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Gigi Rojahn scored a career-high three goals, including the game-winner in the final period, to lift the Bucknell women’s water polo team to a 6-5 win over Santa Clara Saturday at the Wolverine Invite.

Rojahn entered Saturday with one goal all season. The freshman scored one time in each of the final three periods to help the Bucknell (7-5) pick up its first ever win against the Broncos (4-10).

Colleen Barron scored twice, while Emily Konishi handed out four assists and Marta Considine drew four ejections. Shyla Lintz recorded three steals and drew two ejections, while assisting on the game-winning score.

Considine scored her only goal of the afternoon to give Bucknell a 1-0 lead after one quarter. The Bison scored two more in the second period, but Santa Clara countered with three to knot the contest 3-3 at halftime.

The two teams traded two goals apiece in the third period before Rojahn scored the decisive goal. With the victory, Bucknell earns its first win of the year when scoring in single digits.

Manuela Herrera got the start in cage, posting three saves and a steal in the win.

Bucknell returns to the pool at 7:40 p.m. with a contest against No. 6 UC Irvine.
