BOSTON, Mass. – Three Bison earned All-East recognition Saturday on the opening day of the IC4A Indoor Championships at Boston University’s Track and Tennis Center.

Nicholas Lombardo, the Patriot League champion in the long jump, earned his fourth All-East citation, finishing third in the event with a jump of 23-11, a new personal-best at the postseason meet.

Second Team All-Patriot League selection Will Carter earned his first All-East honor, taking sixth in the long jump with a leap of 23-4 ¾. He also advanced to Sunday’s 200-meter final. Carter, the school record holder in the race, clocked a time of 21.52 in the prelims to finish second.

Luke Giugliano earned All-East status in the 5,000m for the second straight year, taking seventh with a time of 14:23.07, a personal-record.

A 4x8 relay team comprised of Kyle Adams, Sean Conway, Jordan Jackson and Scott Gulizio qualified for Sunday’s final, winning their heat with a time of 7:37.87.

“Very good first day for our men,” said head coach Kevin Donner. “Great to see Lombardo and Carter make All-East in the long jump and Luke in the 5k. Carter making the finals of the 200m and our men making the finals of the 4x8 is great.”

Competition resumes Sunday beginning with the triple jump at 9:30 a.m. Running events and finals begin at 10 a.m.
