ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Bucknell women’s water polo team concluded day one of the Wolverine Invite with a 16-4 loss to No. 6 UC Irvine at Canham Natatorium.

The Bison (7-6) opened play earlier with a 6-5 victory over Santa Clara, thanks to three goals, including the game winner, from Gigi Rojahn.

Tegan Stanbach finished with three points in the match, recording two goals and an assist. Colleen Barron and Rojahn scored one goal each in the loss.

UC Irvine (10-6) scored the game’s first four goals and led 6-3 at halftime. The Anteaters pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bison 10-1.

Manuela Herrera started in goal, posting five saves and two steals.

Bucknell wraps up play at the Wolverine Invite with matches against No. 13 UC Davis (10:20 a.m.) and No. 5 Arizona State (3 p.m.).
