BOSTON, Mass. – The Bucknell women’s track and field team wrapped up its indoor season earning All-East accolades in four events Sunday at the ECAC Indoor Championships at Boston University.

Christine Bendzinski and Colleen Buckley each earned All-East status in the 3,000m. Bendzinski, the Patriot League champion in the event, finished third in 9:32.77, while Buckley placed fourth with a time of 9:36.18, a new personal-record.

In the finals of the mile, Sarah Chandler earned All-East honors, taking seventh with a time of 4:55.39.

A distance medley relay team comprised of Kathleen Fitzgerald, Laura Papili, Jenna Farmer and Margaret Thomson earned All-East recognition, finishing eighth with a time of 11:49.40, now seventh-fastest in school history.

In the finals of the 4x4 relay, the team of Allison Sharkey, Emily Ryan, Margaret Sliney and Elyse Pettaway earned All-East status, taking sixth in 3:46.68, a top-10 program performance.

Overall, the Bison finished tied for 18th among 44 schools with 17 points.

“I was very pleased to see two relays earn All-East,” said head coach Kevin Donner. “Chrissy and Colleen ran nice in the 3k with Colleen dropping another seven seconds off her PR. Chrissy hung in there to finish third and Chandler finished seventh in the mile although she looked a bit tired. Looking forward to a great outdoor season.”

Bucknell opens its outdoor season Mar. 25 at the Jim Taylor Invitational.
