SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Colleen Barron scored a game-high three goals, while handing out one assist and posting four steals to lead the Bucknell women’s water polo team to a 10-5 victory over Chapman at the Aztec Invitational.

Bucknell (8-9) opened the day with an 11-4 loss to No. 16 UC San Diego, but rebounded for the split, holding the Panthers under eight goals for the eighth consecutive meeting.

Konishi scored two goals, while Tegan Stanbach, Shyla Lintz, Sarah Mooney, Marta Considine and Gigi Rojahn each found the back of the net.

Bucknell scored the lone goal of the opening period and led 4-2 at intermission. The two teams traded three goals apiece in the third quarter.

The Bison locked down on defense in the final period, holding Chapman (2-7) scoreless while adding three more goals. Lintz and Konishi joined Barron with multi-steal outings.

Manuela Herrera got the start in cage, posting two saves in the victory.

Bucknell concludes action at the Aztec Invitational on Sunday with contests against Whittier (2:45 p.m.) and No. 17 San Diego State (9 p.m.).
