CLAREMONT, Calif. – Colleen Barron scored a game-high four goals to lead the Bucknell women’s water polo team to a 12-6 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday night at Axelrood Aquatics Center. Barron has now posted 12 goals on the team’s California trip.

Bucknell (11-10) opened the day with a thrilling 11-10 win over Pomona-Pitzer, snapping a two-game losing streak against the California program.

Marta Considine scored three goals, while Shyla Lintz and Tegan Stanbach scored two goals apiece.

The Bison scored four goals in each of the first three periods en route to improving to 8-1 all-time against the Athenas.

Bucknell were stout on the defensive end through the first three periods, allowing a total of three goals. Overall, the team generated 10 steals, including three each from Considine and Emily Konishi.

The Bison wrap up their California trip with a contest at No. 15 Long Beach State on Thursday (Mar. 16) at 5 p.m.
