LEWISBURG, Pa. – Four Bison combined to win five events as the Bucknell women's swimming & diving team went 2-1 at its home quad meet on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium.
Emma Hadley won both the 100 backstroke (56.38) and 200 backstroke (2:01.39). Both of her times would have cracked Bucknell's top 10 if she didn't already own the second (54.44) and fifth (1:59.59) fastest times respectively.
Maggie Wyngowski won the 200 breaststroke (2:20.66), took second in the 400 IM (4:24.98) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.15). She shaved .05 of a second off of her personal record in the 400 IM but remained slotted in seventh in school history.
Smalec added a third-place finish in the 200 butterfly while Emily Gorham took third in both the 100 and 200 freestyle races. A pair of relay teams raced to runner-up finishes.
Like the men's team, the Bison topped American (221-77) and Lafayette (254-45). Bucknell fell to six-time defending Patriot League champion Navy (177.5-120.5).
The Bison return to action when they host the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium on Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19.
