LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team sits in third place with 355.5 points at the end of the Bucknell Invitational's first day. Defending champion Towson (496) is in the lead through the first 11 events while Georgetown (370.5) is slotted in second.
Six Bison qualified for the 'A' finals in their respective events, highlighted by Maggie Wyngowski's runner-up finish in the 200 IM and Caroline Edelman's third-place finish in the 50 freestyle. Bucknell also excelled in relay events, with four teams placing in the top eight.
Wyngowski, who has already set school top-10 times in the 200 breaststroke and 400 IM during her freshman campaign, cracked 200 IM's top 10 on Friday. With a time of 2:04.30, she claimed the eighth spot.
Edelman clocked in at 23.60 during the preliminaries of the 50 freestyle to take 10th in school history. She went on to touch the wall in 23.69 during the finals.
Two relay teams, both of which placed in the top three at the Bucknell Invitational, were also fast enough to enter the Bison record book.
