CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – For the second week in a row, Bucknell's Will Sands earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week laurels following an eight-point performance.

Sands, who currently ranks second in the nation with 16 points (5g-11a), led the Bison to a 14-12 victory at defending NEC champion Bryant on Feb. 10 by registering three goals and five helpers. He posted at least one point in every quarter and set up three of Connor O'Hara's game-high four goals.

Sands was also recognized on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association DI Team of the Week, becoming the second Bison to make the 10-man squad in 2018.

A week ago, Sands was honored as the Offensive Player of the Week after keying Bucknell's 11-9 comeback victory over Marist on Feb. 2. Five of the senior's eight points, a goal and four helpers, came during a 5-0 run that turned a 7-3 deficit into an 8-7 advantage.

Behind his eight-point outing against the Bulldogs, Sands now stands in a tie for fifth with David Dickson in career points (184). He is also three assists shy of becoming the fifth Bison to record 100 in his career.

This is Sands's third career Offensive Player of the Week award. He was previously recognized on March 20, 2016 after notching six points (3g-3a) in Bucknell's 12-6 win at previously unbeaten, and 15th-ranked, Boston University. In 2015, he was a three-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

Sands and the Bison return to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 by facing Richmond for the first time in program history at 12 p.m.
