PRINCETON, N.J. – The Bucknell women's water polo team wrapped up the regular season with a rout of George Washington and a loss to No. 11 Princeton on Sunday morning at DeNunzio Pool.

After Ally Furano led the Bison (13-17, 3-5 CWPA) to a 13-5 victory over the Colonials with a season-best six goals, they were doomed by a lopsided second half in their 12-5 loss to the Tigers.

Against George Washington, 10 different players registered at least one point, with seven netting a goal. Furano added a pair of assists to her six goals; she tied Emily Konishi, who recorded eight points (4g-4a) in Feb. 11's win over the Colonials, for Bucknell's season high in points.

The Bison secured their third win over George Washington of the season behind a dominant second half. They scored six of that half's seven goals, bolstered by a 4-0 third quarter.

Kali Hyham (2g-1a), Colleen Barron (1g-1a) and Marta Considine (1g-1a) added multi-point outings while Manuela Herrera made 10 saves to hold George Washington to a meager five goals.

Hyham and Considine also made a difference on defense, with Hyham leading the Bison with five ejections drawn and Considine recording a team-high two steals.

With its commanding victory over Bucknell, Princeton clinched the top seed in the upcoming CWPA Championships with an undefeated 8-0 record in conference play. While the Bison held a 5-3 halftime lead and looked poised to upset their second ranked foe of the weekend, the Tigers netted nine unanswered goals in the second half to emerge victorious.

Furano again paced the Bucknell offense, registering a hat trick. Barron (1g-2a) and Considine (1g-1a) also enjoyed multi-point outings.

Herrera stopped 10 shots for the second-straight game while Konishi led the Bison with three steals. Shyla Lintz recorded a team-best four ejections drawn.

The fifth-seeded Bison next host the CWPA Championships on Friday, April 27 to Sunday, April 29. In the first round on Friday, they will face fourth-seeded Indiana at 4:30 p.m. More information about the event will be available in the coming weeks.
