ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Keifer Rawlings homered and drove in three runs, but Navy scored the game's final three runs to turn back Bucknell 6-4 in Patriot League baseball action on Wednesday at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. The second-place Midshipmen improved to 12-6 in league play, while the third-place Bison fell to 9-8.

Bucknell had three different leads in the game. The Bison went up 2-0 on Rawlings' first home run of the season in the top of the second, but Navy answered with two in the bottom of the frame. Rawlings delivered again in the fourth off Navy starter Nicholas Elder, this time with a single that plated Dominic Toso, but once again the Midshipmen quickly responded with a tally in the bottom half of the inning.

The Bison went ahead again in the fifth, when Chuckie Scales singled, stole second, and scored on a two-out double by Luke Johnson

Bucknell starter Jack Grabek worked out of trouble in the fifth and departed the game in line for the win, but he would end up with a no-decision after Navy scored twice in the seventh inning and once more in the eighth. Jack Simpson tossed a scoreless sixth inning in relief, but a hit batsman leading off the seven proved costly.

After Zach Biggers was hit by a pitch, Stephen Born doubled him in. Christian Hodge followed with another double, giving Navy its first lead of the day.

Jack Ferguson picked up a big strikeout to strand runners at the corners on the Bucknell half of the eighth inning, and then Navy tallied a big insurance run on consecutive doubles by Michael Coritz and Logan Knowles.

The Bison got the tying run to the plate in the ninth when Scales was plunked with one out, but Ferguson closed it out with a fly out and a strikeout. Ferguson earned the win for the Mids with three scorelss innings of relief.

Rawlings' three RBIs were a season high, and he now has five in his last two games. Toso and Evan Klugerman also had two-hit games for the Bison, who totaled 10 hits on the day.

Knowles went 3-for-5 to pace Navy's 11-hit attack. The Midshipmen belted six doubles among those 11 hits.

Bucknell will host Lehigh in a three-game series this weekend. The Mountain Hawks are now 4-10 in Patriot League play after beating Lafayette 5-2 on Wednesday. The Bison will celebrate Senior Day prior to Saturday's doubleheader, which is slated for noon at Depew Field. The teams will play a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m., which will be preceded by ceremonies to recognize alumni who contributed to the Depew Field Project.
