LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell’s Lauren Hadley was voted Third Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region at second base by the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA), as released by the organization on Thursday. She is the first Bison player to receive the honor since Kristen Zahn in 2015.
Hadley, a First Team All-Patriot League selection this season, was one of three players to make the All-Region squad at second base. Liberty’s Amber Bishop was the First Team pick, while Columbia’s Taylor Troutt picked up the Second Team spot.
Hadley ranks second in the Patriot League in batting average (.370), slugging percentage (.642), and home runs (13). She also ranks in the top 10 in on-base percentage (.422), runs (32), hits (61), RBIs (37), doubles (10), triples (4), and stolen bases (16).
Capping an outstanding junior season, Hadley was named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team after hitting .400 (4-10) in three postseason games. She hit a game-tying home run in an eventual loss to league champion Boston University in the winner’s bracket final.
In all, five Patriot League players made All-Region squads. Boston University’s Ali DuBois (First Team), Alex Heinen (First Team), and Emma Wong (Second Team), and Army West Point’s Courtney Springman (Third Team) all made the Northeast Region list.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams.
