LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Julie Byrne and Julianna Foss were recognized as Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

In addition, the Bison women's swimming & diving team captured a spot on the CSCAA's Scholar All-America list for achieving a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Bucknell, which earlier placed 19 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, posted a GPA of 3.39 during the spring semester.

Byrne and Foss earned their distinction by recording a GPA of 3.50 or higher and achieving a "B" time standard or competing at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier. Byrne, an Early Childhood Education Major, boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA while Foss, a Biology major, became the fifth Bison to garner Academic All-Patriot League accolades all three years she was eligible to be voted to the 10-woman team, joining Tara Boyle, Elizabeth Porcellio, Lauren Perry and Rachel Perry.

Byrne was previously honored as a CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American in 2017. Foss, a four-time All-Patriot League selection who graduated with two individual school records and seven Patriot League medals, earned a spot on this squad for the first time in her illustrious career.

In 2018, a record 1,069 swimmers and divers were selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team for achieving a GPA of at least 3.50 and competing at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. An additional 1,137 student-athletes were recognized on the Honorable Mention list. A total of 476 programs were honored on the Scholar All-America list.
