NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bucknell women's golf team posted a 317 team score in the second round of the Yale Intercollegiate on Saturday. It was a near-repeat of the team's opening-round 316, as all five Bison posted scores within two strokes of their first-round total.
Lauren Bernard, Emily Timmons and Bridget Wilcox all turned in cards in the 70s for the second straight day. Wilcox was the low Bison on Saturday with a 77, two shots better than her first-round 77. Timmons followed her career-best 77 with a 79, and Bernard backed up a 77 with a second-round 78. Bernard is tied for 36th in the individual standings.
Host Yale posted a second straight 292 team score and enters Sunday's final round with a five-shot lead on Xavier. The Musketeers paced the field with a 286 on Saturday. Penn, Boston University and Seton Hall round out the top five.
Elisabeth Bernabe of Yale is 1-under for the tournament and has a three-shot lead in the individual standings. Four players are at 2-over.
The final round gets underway Sunday morning at The Course at Yale.
