WASHINGTON, D.C. – Freshman Louis Behnen won three events, Mike Nicholson claimed two and the Bucknell men’s swimming and diving team defeated George Washington by a 165-91 margin Saturday afternoon in the team’s first scored meet of the 2013-14 campaign. A total of eight different Bison won events as Bucknell had the first-place finisher in every event.

Behnen won the 100 back, 500 free and 1,000 free. His time of 9 minutes, 36.33 seconds ranks third in program history and was more than 16 seconds faster than runner-up Brian Phillips.

Nicholson won the 200 fly and 200 breast and later swam the 200 IM exhibition, but his time was the fastest in the field.

Chris Ortiz (200 free), Will Rappaport (100 back), Ben Seketa (100 breast), Steve Grune (50 free), Trevor Reitz (100 free) and Erik Heinemann (100 fly) each won one event apiece for the Bison. Additionally, Bucknell finished 1-2 in the 200 medley relay and had two of the three fastest times in the final event of the meet, the 400 free relay.

Bucknell will return home to Kinney Natatorium next Saturday, Oct. 26, when it hosts Pittsburgh. Start time is 1 p.m.
