KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Cold temperatures resulted in higher scores for the 36 teams competing on the final day of the Kiawah Island Classic, but Bucknell senior Lauren Bernard turned in the team's best round of the week with a 78 on Tuesday. The Bison, making their spring debut in the largest tournament in the country, closed with a 345 and finished in 34th place ahead of Richmond and Niagara.

Bernard made three birdies en route to a 1-over 37 on the front nine on the Oak Point Course, and she had nothing worse than bogey all day. Her 54-hole total of 243 was also the best on the team.

Bridget Wilcox also had a strong front nine with a 39 that included a birdie at the par-3 ninth hole. She finished with an 84. Kasha Scott shot 91 and Emily Timmons 92 for the Bison.

Kent State cruised to a 14-stroke team victory over runner-up Penn State. Wad Phaewchimplee closed with a 2-under 70, and at 4-over for the tournament she shared medalist honors with Katia Joo of Boston College.

Bucknell will be back in action on March 10-11 at the Bison Invitational at Paiute in Las Vegas.
