WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Bucknell posted rounds of 306 and 299 on Saturday at the West Point Golf Course, and the Bison sit in sixth place after 36 holes of the 2014 Patriot League Championship. Schuyler Stitzer was Bucknell's top performer with a 75 and a 72, and he sits in a tie for 10th place on the individual leaderboard.
Stitzer birdied the 9th and 18th holes and also made 12 pars in his 2-over 72 during the afternoon round. He birdied 14 and 18 in the morning, and his 147 total is nine strokes behind individual leader August Jonas of Navy, who posted a pair of 69s.
Next for Bucknell is 2012 Patriot League Rookie of the Year Peter Scialabba, who logged a 149 total with rounds of 75-74. Scialabba made a tournament-high eight birdies on the day, four in each round.
Zach Pogust shot 79-75. There have been seven eagles made in the tournament so far, and Pogust recorded one of them at the par-5 18th in the first round.
Loyola posted rounds of 287-283 for a 570 total and has a five-stroke lead over host Army (295-280-575). Navy (294-292-586) is third, followed by Lehigh (293-301-594), Colgate (305-298-603), Bucknell (306-299-605), Holy Cross (310-306-616) and Lafayette (315-303-618).
Jonas has the individual lead at 2-under, but two others lurk just one shot back. Army's Peter Kim, who fired a tournament-best 66 in round two, joins Loyola's Jimmy Dengler at 1-under.
The third and final round gets underway Sunday morning.
