PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Matthew Fay earned his first All-East citation Saturday on the second day of the IC4A Championships at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.
Fay was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 16-9 ¼, tying his own school record that he posted at the Bucknell Team Challenge. The pole vault was moved indoors to Jadwin Gymnasium due to weather.
Saturday's weather forecast moved all events to Sunday with the exception of the pole vault and hammer events.
In the women's hammer throw, Molly Montalvo, an All-Patriot League honoree in the event, recorded a toss of 164-7.
"Fay had a great day tying for second and matching his PR," said head coach Kevin Donner. "This gives him great momentum heading into NCAA. Montalvo had her second best throw ever in a driving rainstorm and finished well above her seed. She has a great future ahead of her."The IC4A Championships will resume on Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. All heats will be finals.
