EMMITSBURG, Md. – Seniors Max Kane and Ben Gerber turned in a runner-up performance while finishing competition in Flight A doubles Saturday at the Mount Invitational.

Kane and Gerber, who began the day in the semifinals after a win over Loyola’s Blest Jones and Matt Fitzmaurice, advanced to the championship match with a hard-fought 7-5 victory over The Mount’s Jean Armstrong and Parth Sharma.

Another Mount St. Mary’s team awaited Kane and Gerber in the finals as Jackson Wood and Brandon Wortkotter took the title with a 6-3 win over the Bison team.

Kane was Bucknell’s top finisher in singles action, taking fourth in Flight A. Gerber was seventh in that draw. Freshman Drew Krantz was sixth in Flight B, while freshman Adrien Crastes took fifth in Flight C.

The Bison conclude their fall schedule when they play at the Temple Invitational on Oct. 12-14.
