LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s rowing team has announced its Spring 2018 race schedule, which includes three home dates and several away events where the Bison will be squaring off against top-notch competition.
On Sunday, Apr. 1, the team will have an intrasquad scrimmage at its home venue on the Susquehanna River at the junction of Routes 11 and 15 near Sunbury. Bucknell will compete at home again on Apr. 15 against Lehigh, and on Apr. 29 against Villanova. On Apr. 28, the Bison will host their annual team banquet at 6 p.m., and Senior Day ceremonies will be held the following morning prior to the Villanova scrimmage at 7:30 a.m.
The spring season kicks off with the Cooper Sprints on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Sunday, March 25. The Bison will be going up against Patriot League rival Navy, along with the likes of Boston College, Drexel, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Rhode Island and West Virginia.
On Apr. 8, the Bison return to Cherry Hill for the Cooper Invitational, where the competition will include Canisius, Dayton, Delaware, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Villanova, Marist and Fairfield.
Then on Apr. 21, Bucknell goes up against Connecticut, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Jacksonville, Marist, MIT, Rutgers, SMU and Fordham at the Cherry Hill Invitational.
The Bison will vie for their eighth Patriot League championship on Friday, May 11 on the Cooper River, with the team champion earning a bid to the NCAA Championship May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
