SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Bucknell women's water polo team dropped a pair of games to ranked opponents on the final day of the Aztec Invitational, held at the Aztec Aquaplex.

After falling to No. 19 CSU Northridge, 13-3, the Bison gave No. 21 San Diego State a battle but was ultimately downed by an 11-7 margin.

Against the host Aztecs, Kali Hyham (3g), Ally Furano (2g) and Emily Konishi (2g) enjoyed multi-goal outings. Konishi's first goal of the contest was the 100th of her collegiate career.

San Diego State led, 8-4, at halftime, but Bucknell clawed back into the game by netting three of the next four goals during the third quarter. The Aztecs responded, holding the Bison off the scoreboard in the final frame while adding two strikes of their own.

Against the Matadors, who earlier this season topped Bucknell, 10-6, at Wolverine Invitational, Gigi Rojahn led the offense with a goal and an assist. Marta Considine also found the back of the net; she now needs six more goals to reach the 100-goal plateau.

The Bison (8-10) next play at Long Beach State on Thursday, March 15 at 10 p.m. (7 p.m. Pacific).
