LEWISBURG, Pa. – Raeanne Geffert was voted to the Academic All-Patriot Team on Thursday, the same day that she pitched Bucknell softball to a 3-1 win over Lehigh in the opening round of the league tournament.

Geffert didn’t allow an earned run in the win over Lehigh, lowering her ERA to 1.84 and upping her record to 18-10. She has struck out 151 batters and walked just 23 over 180.1 innings of work. Opponents are batting just .232 against the righty.

A cell biology/biochemistry major, Geffert earns the Academic All-Patriot League honor in her first year of eligibility (freshmen aren’t eligible). In addition to her success in the classroom, she has done volunteer work with Relay for Life and with the Seymour Little League.

Geffert is a two-time All-Patriot League selection, including a spot on the First Team this season. She ranks sixth in program history in career ERA, seventh in strikeouts, and eighth in wins.

Bucknell will play top-seeded Boston University in the winner’s bracket final of the conference tournament at 11 a.m. on Friday.
