BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Freshman John Edler carded a 79 en route to his first career top-10 finish as the Bucknell men's golf team closed out its fall season Monday at the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley CC. Edler shot 155 for the tournament and finished in a tie for eighth place.

Hampered by the loss of Zach Pogust to injury and having to count each of their remaining four scores, the Bison compiled a 325 team score and finished in seventh place. While Edler posted his second straight round in the 70s -- he shot 76 on Sunday -- Bucknell's other freshman in the lineup had the best score in round two. Zachary Melnick shook off an opening-round 92 and carded a team-low 78 on Monday.

Schuyler Stitzer closed with an 82 and Billy Wright shot 86 for the Bison.

Rutgers logged its second straight 305 in round two and won the team title by eight shots over host Lehigh. Doug Walters of the Scarlet Knights claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 150 (74-76). He dodged teammate Jonathan Renza and Lehigh's Ethan Wall by one stroke.
