LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Sophie Bullard registered her fourth double-double in the past six matches, but the Bison fell to visiting Holy Cross in three sets in a Patriot League volleyball match Saturday at Davis Gym. The Crusaders won by identical scores, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Bucknell dropped to 4-16 overall and 2-6 in the Patriot League, while Holy Cross improved to 6-15 overall and 2-6 in the conference. It was just the second Crusaders’ win in the past six meetings between the teams.

Bullard finished with 15 kills on .343 hitting and added 16 digs. She led all players in both categories. The freshman has five double-doubles on the season.

Freshman Selby Schnobrich led Bucknell with 23 assists, freshman Bridgette Holland tallied a team-high five block assists, and junior Hailey Stout contributed eight kills and eight digs.

Mandy Sifferlen, a Preseason All-Patriot League selection, keyed the Holy Cross win with 13 kills and 11 digs. Luis Soares chipped in with eight kills and 10 digs.

Bucknell led past the midway point of all three sets. The Bison were up 17-16 in the first set, 21-20 in the second set, and 18-17 in the third.

“This wasn’t our best weekend,” said Bucknell head coach Anna Allison. “We came out and played very strong the past couple of weeks, but we were just not able to put it together these last couple of matches. We will get back to work on Monday and look forward to doing better next weekend.”

The Bison will host Navy on Friday at 7 p.m., and American on Saturday at 5 p.m.
