WEST POINT, N.Y. – Bucknell was competitive in all three sets but closed the season with a 3-0 loss at Army West Point in Patriot League volleyball action Saturday. The Black Knights took the match with scores of 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.
Army West Point improved to 20-10 overall and 12-4 in the Patriot League and will compete in the four-team Patriot League Tournament at American. Bucknell closes the season at 5-22 overall and 3-12 in the Patriot League.
Freshman Sophie Bullard finished the season as Bucknell’s team leader in double-doubles, registering her sixth on Saturday with 12 kills and 12 digs. A pair of seniors playing their final match led the Bison in kills as Kristen Parks tallied 18 and Rebecca Forbes contributed 17.
Senior Jordan Walker, also playing in her final match with the Bison, went out with a solid performance. She had 11 kills and six digs.
“We played a much better match today than we did on Friday,” said Bucknell head coach Anna Allison. “We saw a lot of strong performances and we are excited for our future as a team. This is a great group that is getting stronger and stronger and growing together while playing this incredible game, and I look forward to seeing us grow as a program in the seasons to come.”
Allie Strong led Army West Point with 12 kills on .310 hitting and eight digs. Carolyn Bockrath finished with 10 kills on .320 hitting.
