About Kate Scott
>> Kate Scott became the first Bucknell runner since 2006 and first Patriot League female runner since 2014 to earn a bid to the NCAA Championships as an individual.
>> Scott finished ninth in a field of 198 runners at the Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State, completing the 6k race in 20:45, earning Bison Athlete of the Week honors. She led the team to a sixth-place showing among the 28 competing schools.
>> Scott has been the first Bucknell runner to cross the finish line in three races this season.
>> Scott earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second consecutive year, finishing as the runner-up in the league championships for the second straight season.
>> The senior has placed in the top 10 in four of five races this season.
>> Scott is no stranger to competing against schools across the country, as she qualified for the NCAA East Regionals last spring in the 5,000-meter event.
Bucknell at the NCAA Championships
>> Leanna Nastase was the last Bison runner to compete at the NCAA Championships in 2006, finishing 94th.
>> Theresa Dennis represented the Bison in 2001, placing 76th.
>> Bucknell Hall of Famer Julie Sweitzer competed at the NCAA Championships in 1997, finishing 84th.
>> The Bison qualified as a team in 1999, led by Hall of the Famer Becki Marshall, who placed 96th.
