LEWISBURG, Pa. – Three Bucknell women’s soccer student-athletes have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team. Juniors Kendall Ham and Karli Cirovski both earned First Team honors, and senior Jessica Ratner was named to the Second Team.
Ham, Cirovski and Ratner were all First Team All-Patriot League honorees in 2016. This is the first time in program history that Bucknell has earned multiple All-Region citations in one season.
Bucknell has now claimed at least one All-Region selection every year dating back to 2013 and this is the second time in program history that a member of the Bison earned First Team honors.
Ham, a third team All-Region honoree in 2015, was the top striker in the Patriot League in 2016. The junior led the Patriot League in points (35) and goals (15), becoming the fourth Bucknell player in school history to earn Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year honors. With one year to go, Ham ranks seventh in goals (29) and eighth in points (65) and on Bucknell’s all-time lists.
Cirovski earned All-Patriot League and All-Region honors for the first time after helping the Bison own one of the stingiest defenses in the country. The junior was a rock at center back all season long for the Bison. She played nearly every minute of every match on a back line that contributed to 10 shutouts and a terrific 0.85 team goals-against average. Cirovski proved to be a dual threat, finishing with two goals and five assists for nine points.
After becoming the first Bucknell player to earn Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors, Ratner is now the first netminder to garner All-Region accolades. Ratner was solid in her senior season, recording 72 saves with a .809 save percentage. A Patriot League All-Tournament selection for the second straight season, she became the program’s all-time shutouts leader (24) and moved into a four-way tie for most goalkeeper wins (30) following the team’s 2-1 victory over Boston University in the Patriot League Championship Game.
The Bison finished the year 16-2-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the Patriot League. Bucknell captured its third-ever Patriot League title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005.
