LEWISBURG, Pa. – One week after earning All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their outstanding play on the pitch, seniors Zack Rockmore and Sebastiaan Blickman have now received NSCAA Scholar All-Region accolades in recognition of their work in the classroom. Rockmore was a First Team selection, while Blickman earned Second Team honors.
This was yet another significant award for Rockmore this fall. In addition to his Third Team All-Northeast recognition, the defensive anchor earned First Team All-Patriot League honors, and became the fourth Bison to be named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Rockmore carries a 3.77 cumulative grade-point average in economics and is a two-year Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member. On campus, he is an active participant in the Bucknell Bison Leadership Institute and was one of three Bison student-athletes to attend the U.S. Naval Leadership Conference last January.
On the field, Rockmore was a fixture on the Bison back line upon his arrival to Lewisburg, starting 62 of 63 games at center back. In addition to his strong play on defense, he proved to be an asset on offense, posting seven goals and two assists for 16 points in a Bison uniform.
Blickman continues to rack up academic honors. He was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for the second straight season and was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in 2015. The tri-captain carries a 3.65 cumulative GPA in political science and Spanish, and is a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
A Third Team All-Northeast honoree, Blickman was one of the Patriot League’s most feared strikers, leading the league in points (26) and goals (11) en route to receiving Second Team All-Patriot League recognition. He will graduate with 19 goals in his collegiate career, two of which came in the 2014 Patriot League Championship game, helping the Bison capture the league title while being named Patriot League Tournament MVP.
The Bison finished 7-11-3 overall and 4-4-1 in a competitive Patriot League. Bucknell qualified as the No. 5 seed, knocking off fourth-seeded Boston University in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals before falling to top-seeded American in double overtime in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals.
