LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Patriot League champion Bucknell women’s cross country team received All-Academic honors from the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA), announced on Thursday. In addition, seniors Sarah Chandler and Kate Scott represented the Bison on the organization’s individual All-Academic Team.
In order to receive the honor, a team must post an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or high. The Bison posted a 3.43 GPA and were one of two Patriot League schools represented on the list.
For an individual to qualify for All-Academic accolades, the athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
Chandler has a 3.46 cumulative GPA in psychology and is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor selection. She finished third at this year’s Patriot League Championships to earn her third all-league citation, while placing in the top-20 at the Mid-Atlantic Regional to earn All-Region honorees for the second straight year.
Scott holds a 3.35 cumulative GPA in history and has earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor in each of the last two years. An Academic All-Patriot League honoree, she was the runner-up at the Patriot League Championships for the second straight season to earn First Team All-Patriot League accolades. At the Mid-Atlantic Regional, she finished ninth, becoming the program’s first runner since 2006 to qualify for the NCAA Championship as an individual.
