ANNAPOLIS. Md. – Freshman Matt McGoey recorded a program top-10 time to highlight Bucknell’s first day of competition at the ECAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday at Navy’s Lejeune Hall.

McGoey’s time of 1:51.25 while taking 12th in the 200 IM was the ninth-fastest in Bucknell history.

The Bison also had two relays turn in top-10 finishes. Jimmy Rush, Kyle Bloom, Will Kinsella, and Charlie McFarland were ninth in the 200 free relay, while McGoey, McFarland, Vince Filippini, and Sam Rutan were ninth in the 400 medley relay.

With 41 points, Bucknell is 11th out of 19 teams that have scored. Navy leads the pack with 173 points, Binghamton is second with 115, and Penn is third with 106.

Competition resumes with the second day of prelims on Saturday at 10 a.m.
