HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Connor O'Brien logged a team-best 78 on Sunday, and the Bucknell men's golf team finished in 12th place out of 17 teams at the Mission Inn Spectacular. The Bison compiled a 317 team score for a 931 total over 54 holes.
O'Brien shot 74-75 on Saturday, and his 227 total was good for a 27th-place finish, the best on the squad. In his final round, O'Brien made 13 pars and a birdie, but an otherwise outstanding showing was hampered by a double-bogey and a triple-bogey.
TCU captured the team title with an 875 total, which was 11 shots better than runner-up Marquette. George Mason, Elon and Ohio rounded out the top five. Bucknell bettered the only other Patriot League team in the field, topping 14th-place Lehigh by 12 strokes. The Bison also finished in front of Air Force, Saint Joseph's, Florida A&M and Hofstra.
Ohio's Peyton White posted a 1-under-par 215 (72-70-73) to earn medalist honors by one shot over TCU's Triston Fisher.
Bucknell is back in action March 27-28 at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova at White Manor CC.
