ONEONTA, N.Y. – Playing a ranked opponent for the fourth time in its last five games, the Bucknell women’s water polo team lost to No. 14 Indiana 12-7 Saturday afternoon at Hartwick. It was the second game of the day for the Bison, who lost earlier to No. 20 Harvard by a 9-5 margin.

Bucknell (13-15, 2-5 CWPA) was even with Indiana (14-8, 1-2 CWPA) 3-3 in the second half, but the Hoosiers had already built a 9-4 halftime edge.

Six different Bison scored goals in the game, led by a pair from Gigi Rojahn, who also posted a team-high two assists. Rojahn also recorded a pair of steals.

Manuela Herrera and Haley Derrod split time in the cage for Bucknell. Herrera posted a team-high five saves in her 16 minutes of playing time. The Hoosiers scored six goals against both goalies.

Sarah Myers led Indiana with four goals, while Sarah Young chipped in three as the Hoosiers defeated Bucknell for the 10th time in 12 all-time meetings.

The Bison will wrap up the regular season Sunday at 10:30 a.m. against Brown. Bucknell has won the last two games in the series.
