LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell football team puts a lid on 2017 spring practice with the annual Spring Game on Friday evening at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Warmups begin at 6 p.m., with the intrasquad scrimmage slated for 7 p.m. Head coach Joe Susan will also present the team's spring awards and announce the 2017 team captains in a brief ceremony prior to the start of the scrimmage.

The spring game is open to the public and free of charge. 

The scrimmage will consist of controlled situations, with points awarded to the offense and defense for a variey of tasks. The defense can earn points for forcing incompletions, interceptions and three-and-outs. The offense compiles points for pass completions, touchdowns and field goals. 

The spring game represents the 15th and final practice of the spring session. The Bison were introduced to two new assistant coaches, offensive coordinator Bobby Acosta and linebackers coach Mike Weick, and have worked hard in early preparation for the 2017 campaign. Bucknell opens the season at home against Marist on Sept. 2.
