ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Battling cool, rainy conditions on day one of the Navy Invitational, the Bucknell men's golf team opened with a 312 team score and sits in 10th place at the midway point of the tournament. D.J. Magee led the Bison with a 5-over-par 76.
Magee is tied for 22nd place in the individual standings. He was followed in the Bison lineup by J.B. Thompson (78), Zachary Melnick (79), Ashton Radvansky (79) and Connor O'Brien (84). Jack Gregor, playing as an individual, shot 86.
George Mason opened with a 296 to take a three-stroke lead over Saint Joseph's. St. John's (300), Lafayette (303) and Wagner (303) round out the top five.
Wagner's Lucas Moreno posted an even-par 71 to grab the individual lead. Six players are one shot behind, and four others are at 2-over.
The second and final round gets underway on Sunday morning.
