BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The seventh-seeded Bucknell women's water polo team lost to host No. 16 Indiana by a 14-9 score on Sunday at the CWPA Championship at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center. The Hoosiers, the fourth-seed, concluded the season 21-10 and finish the tournament in fifth-place, while Bucknell, which wrapped up its season with a 14-18 record, took the sixth spot.

Senior Tegan Stanbach led the Bison in her final game in orange and blue, scoring four goals. Sophomore Emily Konishi recorded two goals and two assists, while junior Colleen Barron contributed two goals and sophomore Sarah Mooney scored one.

Freshman Nina Benson recorded a game-high four steals, while senior Julia Ulrich, junior Marta Considine, Barron and Stanbach posted one swipe apiece. Junior Manuela Herrera started in cage, recording nine saves and one steal. Senior Haley Derrod came in for the final minutes of the fourth quarter, finishing with one save and one steal.

The second quarter proved to be the difference in the contest, as Indiana outscored Bucknell 7-3 in the frame to take a 9-4 lead at intermission. The two teams finished with five goals apiece in the second half.
