LEWISBURG, Pa. -- On the eve of their second straight Patriot League Tournament berth, Bucknell women's lacrosse seniors Maddy Molinari and Annie Gilbertson earned All-Patriot League honors. Molinari, a midfielder, was named to the First Team, while Gilbertson, a defender, was tabbed for the Second Team for the second year in a row.

Molinari's first career all-conference citation was well-deserved. The Manhasset, New York native is a three-time Patriot League Midfielder of the Week in 2017. A two-way middie, Molinari is Bucknell's leading goal-scorer with 36, and she also has six assists for 42 points on the season. Defensively, she has 24 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers to rank among the team leaders, and perhaps her biggest impact has come in the draw circle, where she ranks second in the league with 80 draw controls.

Molinari needs just four more draw controls to equal the Bucknell single-season record. She ranks among the school's career leaders in goals (8th with 112), assists (8th with 44) and points (7th with 156).

This season, Molinari has points in 15 of the team's 16 games, including a five-goal game against Wagner, a four-goal effort against Army, and a three-goal, two-assist performance against Colgate. Molinari logged a career-high 10 draw controls -- one shy of the school record -- in a season-opening win over Robert Morris, and she had nine DCs along with the five points to help the Bison snap a 14-game series losing streak to Colgate.

Gilbertson's second consecutive All-Patriot League citation also comes during a big senior season. Like Molinari a two-year team captain, Gilbertson is currently tied for the Patriot League lead with 32 caused turnovers, the third-highest total in Bucknell history. Gilbertson's 79 career caused turnovers are also third on the school's all-time list.

Earlier this season, Gilbertson broke the school record with eight CTs in a 16-6 win over Wagner, and she just missed the school ground ball record when she picked up seven in a road win over Monmouth.

Gilbertson, a native of Fair Haven, New Jersey, is one of the leaders of a Bison defense that ranks second in the Patriot League and 29th nationally in goals-against at 9.9 per game.

Bucknell is 9-7 overall and seeded sixth in the 2017 Patriot League Tournament. The Bison will face third-seedeed Lehigh in a quarterfinal game Tuesday night in Bethlehem. The 7 p.m. contest will stream live on the Patriot League Network.
