LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Daniel Wright has been voted to the Academic All-Patriot League Team in men's tennis, the league office announced on Wednesday. Wright, who received First Team All-Patriot League recognition on Monday, lands a spot on the six-member All-Academic team for the second straight year.
Wright, a double major in economics and political science with a 3.61 GPA, is also a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and has received one Scholar-Athlete honor from the ITA. He has done work in the community in his spare time, including volunteer work with AMG's 5th Annual Tennis Fundraiser to raise money to strengthen the artistic abilities of youth and young adults with disabilities.
Wright is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree, earning First Team status in 2017 and Second Team in 2016. He ranks sixth in program history in singles wins (62), 11th in doubles victories (57), and seventh in combined wins (119).
Bucknell entered the Patriot League Tournament as the No. 6 seed and upset third-seeded Lehigh in the quarterfinal round. Wright recorded a straight sets win on court one in the Bison's 4-3 victory.
