Remington Steele
Head Coach

Remington Steele, a fast-rising coach in the collegiate and international ranks, was named head women's lacrosse coach at Bucknell on August 7, 2017.

In his first season at the helm, Steele mentored All-Patriot League goalkeeper Jamie DeWitt and Academic All-Patriot League selections Eve Lukowski and Jessie Britton. The Bison finished 3-12 (1-8 Patriot League), with five of their games being decided by three or fewer goals.

Steele was appointed the head coach of the Welsh Senior Women's National Lacrosse Team in August 2017, 15 days after taking his position with the Bison. He will lead the team in upcoming international competition.

Steele spent the 2017 season as the first assistant coach at Furman, where he served as defensive coordinator, goalies coach, and recruiting coordinator for a Paladins team that finished 12-7 in just its third season as a varsity program.

Previously, Steele was the lead assistant for two seasons at Vermont, and for two seasons at his alma mater, Division II power Limestone. In his two years on the Limestone staff, the team posted a 38-3 record, captured two conference titles, and was the NCAA runner-up in 2013.

In addition to his work in the collegiate game, Steele since 2015 has served as an assistant coach with the Welsh Senior Women's National Team. He is the co-offensive coordinator and goalie coach for a team ranked as high as fifth in the world this year. Wales recently competed at the FIL World Cup, where it finished seventh.

From 2013-15, Steele was the head coach of New Zealand's U19 National Team. He led the team to a fifth-place finish at the 2015 FIL U19 World Cup, which is the highest finish by a New Zealand team at an international competition. During that tenure he received the FIL Heart of Lacrosse Award.

Steele is a 2012 graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, with a degree in sports management with a coaching minor. He was a goalie on the Saints men's lacrosse team that made three Final Four appearances and was ranked No. 1 in the country during the 2011 season. Steele was a member of Limestone's Captains Council after starting his collegiate career with one year at Division I Robert Morris.

In 2007-08, Steele was the starting goalie for the Canadian U19 National Team. The team won the silver medal at the World Championships.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Steele got his start in coaching at the high school level, serving as head coach of the Coppell High School girls varsity team in 2011-12. The team finished the year ranked eighth in the state while averaging nearly 17 goals per game. Also that year, Steele was the goalies coach for the Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas boys team. The team was ranked No. 1 in the state during the season and advanced to the state semifinals.
